We invite you to JOIN US for the First Annual All-County Church Challenge!!! The Shenandoah County Chapter of the Virginia Weekday Religious Education Association has been immensely blessed to have the opportunity to re-introduce Bible classes to elementary students during the school day. These courses teach students what Christ desires in their lives, how to interact with and treat others, and reinforces a life choice of individual rewards and consequences. We have been blessed by several individuals and groups who have donated funds to purchase buses for transportation and have been grateful for the incredible teachers and teachers’ aides God has assembled. Weekday Religious Education or Bible Classes, had last been taught in the Shenandoah County Schools 32 years ago until it was reintroduced in the Spring of 2021. This opportunity to re-institute Bible Classes for public school children has gone well, however, it does come with some physical expenses. For immediate additional information on us, feel free to visit our website at www.weekdayreligiouseducation.com. We pray this annual County-wide Church Challenge will help our chapter reach the level of our neighboring chapters who are predominately church funded. This will be a donation challenge and up to the church on how they would like to participate. This could be a special offering on "Challenge Day", a special donation from the church and/or a recurring pledge donation. The top 5 donors to the Challenge will receive special recognition with a personalized plaque going to the top challenge donor.
We understand that your church may have conflicts on February 3rd that may prevent a "special" donation on the designated Challenge Day. With this in mind, we're opening up the participation of the challenge to the month of February to allow you the flexibility to participate as it may best serve your congregation. Feel free to use either of the attached flyers or you may also use flyer #2 as the back of flyer #1. These can be added to your bulletins and/or projections at your service on January 28th and the coming Sundays for February. Feel free to have your digital team create your own that may work better with your programs and media.
All donations must be received NO LATER than Friday, March 8th to be entered as a challenge award participant. We ask that you write 2024 Church Challenge in the Memo section of your check, so that we can be sure to credit your donation towards the challenge. Please make checks out to Shenandoah County Chapter of the Virginia Weekday Religious Education Association (SCWREA) and Mail to us at: P.O. Box 634, Woodstock, VA 22664. We can't thank you enough for your participation and support!!! Feel free to reach out to me with any questions that you may have. If you'd like a representative of SCWREA to speak to your congregation, please message me so we can coordinate and make that happen. We invite you to pray with us over this effort, that it be fruitful and exceed the needs we have ahead of us. Many blessings!
